Jason B. Lockett Sr.
Executive Director

Jason is the founder and Executive Director of Breadwinners Academy. Jason started Breadwinners Academy to address the need for financial literacy in the (LMI) low to moderate communities.  As a proud CMSD alumni, Jason strives to give back to the same communities that raised him. As the Executive Director, Jason leads his team in and outside the classroom. Jason provides strategic direction, curriculum development, in-class instruction, community engagement, and execution for the Academy. 

Alongside devoting his life to this mission, Jason also is the founder of “The Breadwinners,” which is a financial planning firm. Jason is the creator of “Slice of Pie,” which is a masterclass on personal finance that highlights trailblazing local entrepreneurs.

Jaita Basim
Program Director (Financial Literacy)

Jaita Basim is a Cleveland, Ohio native, educator, dancer, and community leader dedicated to empowering young people through education, the arts, and mentorship. A student at Cleveland State University studying Middle Childhood Education with concentrations in Mathematics and English Language Arts, Jaita believes that teaching is rooted in fostering meaningful, lasting relationships with students and colleagues and creating learning environments centered on community.

Jaita serves as a Horton Dance instructor at the Tri-C Creative Arts Dance Academy, where she shares the same passion for dance that was cultivated during her years as a student in the program. She also teaches financial literacy, works as an event coordinator, and serves as the Program Director of Breadwinners Academy. A graduate of Dike School of the Arts and Cleveland School of the Arts, she has dedicated her life to education, leadership, and the arts.

Her goal is for every student she works with to leave with increased self-confidence, a strong sense of professionalism, and the tools needed to succeed in life. Above all, Jaita values family, community, and creating opportunities that inspire growth and achievement.

Jason Lockett Jr.
Bookkeeper

Jason’s primary role is to record, track and provide data for each executed contract. As the bookkeeper, Jason is responsible for assisting our CPA in remaining compliant as a non-profit organization. Jason manages payroll, fundraising, and other various accounting duties for the Academy. 

Jason is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minor in finance at Kent State University.

Xavia King
Program Director

If Xavia King could rewrite any chapter of her life, she wouldn’t. Guided by the belief that every challenge is an intentional part of a God’s plan, she has used life’s defining moments to fuel her purpose as a leader, builder, and community advocate.

Based in Cleveland, Ohio, Xavia is a multi-industry founder who seamlessly bridges the worlds of corporate leadership and community service. She is the founder of Xquisite Luxury LLC, a premium residential and commercial cleaning company, and the co-founder of Nap’s Original Hot Sauce—a brand built alongside her grandfather, for whom she also provides dedicated care.

Xavia’s trajectory of leadership took off at Wilberforce University, where she balanced athletics as a cross-country runner with high-profile roles as a four-year Majorette Team Captain, a UNCF Ambassador, and the 90th Miss Wilberforce University. Today, she channels that same competitive, high-achieving energy into her business advising and community work.

A proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Xavia operates on the philosophy that we were made to be of service to one another. For her, having the ability to impact both family and community isn't just an opportunity—it's a responsibility.

Cymone Morgan
Operations Leader

Cymone is a Cleveland native, desiring to excel in contributing passion and empowerment by providing guidance, encouragement, and life skills necessary to thrive and succeed in a society that is not always culturally responsive or equitable to our youth. She believes that every young person deserves opportunities to build confidence, develop resilience, and discover their full potential through positive mentorship and meaningful experiences. 

With a background rooted and thriving in Education, she has been afforded the opportunity to create engaging, supportive environments where youth can develop academically, socially, and emotionally while learning essential life skills such as communication, leadership, problem-solving, and personal responsibility. Breadwinners Academy has opened the door to apply her Educational background to teaching young individuals about finances and what that looks like now and for later in life. 

With the passion and drive to teach as well as gain more knowledgeable experience regarding finances, Cymone brings fun, confidence, and resilience to equip young adults with the tools needed to navigate challenges, embrace their strengths, and become more successful, confident members within their communities centered around financial literacy. She is committed to fostering inclusive spaces where every young adult feels valued, supported, and empowered to achieve their goals of life but more importantly their financial goals.
